We’re Zach and Kacie Scherler-Abney.

We connected while we were both working (remotely) for nonprofits based in Uganda, and we got married a short ten months later. Kacie is a 5th generation farmer and rancher and grew up in SW Oklahoma. She moved to California for college (LA), and stayed there afterward (Bay Area), with no plans to return to the farm. Zach grew up in Uganda before moving to Portland, and then Arkansas, with no experience farming or ranching pre-meeting Kacie. After getting married we decided to fix up a house on Kacie’s family farm, which is where it all started.

Right after we got married, Kacie was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease (MOG Antibody). In a desperate attempt to heal, Kacie started the Autoimmune Protocol diet, and we immediately noticed a difference in her health, and haven’t looked back since! Clean protein is of utmost importance on her diet, and unfortunately, we couldn’t find anything that met our standards locally.

So, we decided to raise what we needed ourselves, and were quickly met with more demand than we could supply! Whether you’re here because of a similar health story, because you like supporting local farmers, or you just really like high quality, nutrient-dense and tasty food, please know that it is our absolute pleasure to be able to share this all with you. Feel free to reach out if you ever have any questions!
